Wedding Photography

Your wedding is a glorious time in your life. So much planning and orchestration is involved in bringing that one day to life.

When it comes to wedding photography, the photos are only a small part. Important but small. 80% of the time and effort is spent in the planning and prep work to make the day special.

I therefore make sure to meet with you at least two to three times before the wedding day to go over all the details.

There is so much happening that you don’t need any extra stress, therefore I am here to assist in removing some of that stress.

I realise that your photos are precious and that is why I include not only a redundancy backup of your photos but also an off-site backup if the worst happens.

While I don’t include any prints, canvas or albums directly in my package, we can add them as an option. I do however give you high-resolution digital copies of all the final photos along with full rights to them, which I find my clients prefer as it allows them to then get any prints made that they want. So I can point you toward some excellent printers that can do what you want.

Frequently asked questions

We don’t live in Gauteng. Is there an extra charge for you to travel to us?

Travel fees for weddings outside of Gauteng will be charged at my standard AA rate at the time of the booking.

When will we receive our photos?

Typically turnaround time is three to four weeks for your edited digital photos.

You will receive a sneak preview gallery containing a small portion of the photos within 72 hours of your wedding so that you can share them on social media and with family and friends.

How many photos will we receive?

The cost of your session covers my time, my expertise, and any physical products that you will be getting along with the time I spend editing the photos and the software that I use. This means that there is no exact number of photos you will receive.

Typically an 8-hour wedding will receive between 400 and 600 photos and a 1-hour engagement session will typically receive around 30 photos.

Why is Wedding Photography so expensive?

There is just so much that goes into wedding photography in general. 

Here is a sneak peek into what I provide for each of my couples: 

I spend about 5 times the amount of hours they’ve contracted with me before and after their wedding day to deliver their final product. From emails to text messages, facetime calls, creating wedding timelines, reviewing wedding questionnaires, coordinating with your wedding coordinator, and vendors, and so much more that goes into preparing for the wedding day.

I also drive or fly, or both to arrive and come back from their wedding destination. Also, I have gear insurance.

After the wedding, I spend about double the hours that have been contracted with me to cull, edit, resize images, and create a sneak peek gallery and a final gallery. But hold on, there is more! The programs I use to create a seamless experience for each of my clients, the education to constantly better myself, the gear to provide them with amazing quality images, the backup systems I have in place to protect their images and so much more.

So the answer is why isn’t wedding photography more expensive? I honestly put so much heart and love into what I provide my clients, that the experience and the investment is worth it. I promise you’ll be sending me multiple heart-eye emojis by the end of it!

Is there a deposit we need to pay?

Yes. I require a 50% deposit to secure your day and put it into my calendar. This deposit is due when we sign the contract.

The remaining balance needs to be paid in full 7 calendar days before the wedding day.
